Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, our help page will get you to a real person.
Getting started
What is Nect Me?
Nect Me is a digital ID for events. You make it in about 30 seconds, choose what to share, and show a QR code when you meet someone. They can save you to their contacts or add you to their list, and you keep every event you go to on one ID.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It opens in your phone's browser. If you want it one tap away, add it to your Home Screen. We show you how for your phone.
What does it cost?
Nothing, for now. Making an ID, joining events and hosting events are all free while we launch. If that ever changes, we will tell you well in advance, and your ID will stay yours.
How do I sign in?
You can sign in with Google in one tap, or ask for a sign-in link by email. There is no password to remember or reset. Emailed links expire after an hour (seven days for your very first confirmation), and a newer link replaces an older one.
Which phones and browsers work?
Any recent phone or computer. iPhone users get the best experience in Safari, and Android users in Chrome.
Your ID and your privacy
Who can see my details?
Only what you switch on. Anyone who scans your QR sees your name, photo, headline and industries, plus any extras you choose to show. People who add you to their list see a little more, and you decide how much. An event host sees your email only if you allow it.
What is a persona?
A persona is one version of you: for example one for your day job, one for a side project and one for a community you run. Each has its own look, link, QR code and sharing choices. You can have up to three.
What is the signature in my QR code?
When you add a signature, it is built into your QR code rather than shown on its own. Your QR then looks like yours and nobody else's, and your signature is not displayed anywhere as a loose image.
When I save someone, what goes into my contacts?
Whatever that person chose to share: their name, company, role and the contact details or links they turned on. That can include LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. It opens your phone's own Contacts app so you can check it before saving.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising cookies. Read our data promise for the details.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes, both. In the app, go to You and choose to download your data or delete your account. Deleting removes your IDs and details.
Your list and Nect score
What does "add to my list" do?
It puts that person on a private list that only you can see, with a note about where you met if you like. You can search the list by name, role or note, and filter it by industry. We do not send them a notification, but they will see you in their "Listed me" tab, and their count goes up.
What is the Nect score?
It is a friendly number on your ID. It grows as people list you, as you go to events and as your ID fills in. It is not a ranking, and there is nothing to win. It is just a nice way to see your network grow.
What does "Nected" mean?
When two people have added each other to their lists, both see a small "Nected" mark next to the other's name.
Can people message me through Nect Me?
No. There is no messaging and no feed, on purpose. Nect Me helps you meet and remember. You follow up in your own way, by email, phone or any app you like.
Events and organisers
How do I host an event?
Sign in, choose Host, and follow the steps. Pick the kind of event, add the date and place, and your page and QR code are made for you. Most people finish in a couple of minutes.
What is the radar on an event page?
A combined picture of what the people at an event are looking for, for example meeting people, hiring or investing. It is anonymous. You see the room, never who chose what, and it only appears once enough people have answered.
How do I invite people to my next event?
Open your event, choose Invite, and pick a small group from your audience, or type an email address. You pick the people yourself, so there is no "send to everyone" button. Invitations leave gradually, and each one has a one-tap unsubscribe.
Why can I only invite a few people at once?
Because small, relevant invitations get opened, and mass emails get marked as spam. Sending in careful batches keeps your emails in inboxes, and keeps your name good.
Can I export my guest list?
Yes, as a spreadsheet. Guests who have not agreed to share their email will not have one in your export. See our organiser rules for how to use the list responsibly.
If something is not working
My sign-in email has not arrived
Check your spam or junk folder, and look for a message from Nect Me. Make sure the address is spelled correctly, then ask for a new link. Only the newest link works. If it still does not turn up, contact us and we will help.
The QR code will not scan
Hold your phone steady about 20 centimetres away, with the code well lit and filling most of the camera view. Turn the screen brightness up if you are scanning a phone. You can also ask the person to share their link instead.
How do I add Nect Me to my Home Screen?
iPhone: open Nect Me in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome and tap Install app, or open the menu and choose Add to Home screen.
How do I contact you?
Use our help page to send a message, check on a ticket or chat with us when we are online. You can also email hello@nectme.co.
